Our industry is changing. New methods and products are constantly being introduced, and like most technical fields, constant training and updating of our knowledge and skills are essential to remaining a front-runner in the transportation industry.
Republic ITS Technicians are participating in the first ever class of the California Apprenticeship Training Program for Traffic Signal Technicians. The program will lead to a state certification as a Journeyman Traffic Signal Technician. This cooperative effort has a twist, though. The program is attended by both apprentices, and veterans of the traffic signal industry. This allows the corporate knowledge of many years to be used to refine and improve the new program. It also allows apprentices to benefit from lessons learned.
